Playwright/Director: Terrance Brooks
Terrance Brooks Boykin began his theatre career at the Bishop Arts Theatre Center in Dallas. He is a playwright and a poet. His plays include Rebirth in the Garden, Wrestling with Untitled, and The Private Life. He earned his B.A. degree from California State University, Los Angeles in Broadcasting-Radio, Television & Film, and he is currently a graduate student in the Arts and Humanities at the University of Texas, in Dallas. In film, he earned a screenwriting credit for the children’s action-adventure and indie film, the Black Cougar. He has studied theatre with author and playwright Will Dunne, Thomas Riccio, Fred Curchack, and Rhodessa Jones. He is a member of the Dramatist Guild of America and Theatre Communications Group.
Visual Design & Costume: Dustin Box
Dustin Box is a Dallas based artist who studied sculpture, photography and mixed media at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he recently graduated with a Bachelor’s in Art and Performance. He studied under such notable artists as Joshua Goode, Greg Metz, and John Pomara. His works explore issues of personal identity and the coping mechanisms used by society. His most recent work is a series of photographs titled Bound, in which he photographs people bound by shredded and torn clothing and fabrics.
Actor in the role of Witness: Cain Rodriguez
A Dallas native, Cain Rodriguez has spent the past year performing in a mix of works that include old favorites like “Black Nativity” and “The Butler Did It!,” as well as bold new work from playwrights like Josefina Lopez and Lauren Ferebee. He is excited to be working with another bold playwright, Terrance Brooks, in an equally bold space of Haley-Henman Gallery.
Actor in the role of Creator: Caroline Turner Cole
Caroline Turner Cole is a theatre artist and arts advocate in the DFW Metro-plex and proud to be a part of this new work by Terrance Brooks. As an actor she has recently worked for Bishop Arts Theatre Center, Watertower Theatre, Pocket Sandwich Theatre, The Margo Jones Theatre, and Rover Dramawerks, to name a few. Favorite roles include Carol in The Carol Burnett Show, Marian Paroo in The Music Man, Sarah in Stop Kiss, Carolyn Bryant in The Face of Emmett Till, Hope Cladwell in Urinetown, The Ghost of Christmas Past in Ebenezer Scrooge, and Little Red in Into the Woods. She is a proud playwright and actor with The Aviary, helping to support workshops for the creation of new plays. She also spends a fair amount of time doing freelance voiceover work. In addition, Caroline works as a teaching artist and director for Theatre Arlington, Junior Players and Saint Patrick School, making theatre with the next generation.
Actor in the role of Untitled: Alex Eakin
Alex Eakin is a longtime actor and has been performing since age 11. He attended college at the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts, and has performed in many different mediums, including radio, theatre, and film. Some of his favorite roles include Cliff Bradshaw in Cabaret, Hot Blades Harry in Urinetown, and Cecil Graham in Lady Windermeres Fan. This is Alex’s first time working with Terrance Brooks, and he couldn’t be more excited.
Actor in the role of Nina: Bri Praslicka
Bri Praskicka is very excited to be working with Terrance Brooks for the first time! She has been acting since high school and graduated with an Arts & Performance degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. Some of her favorite roles include Myrrhine in Lysistrata and Oxana in Book of Liz. She can also occasionally be found play Disney princesses in the DFW area.
